Hot on the heels of its seventh season’s opening double-header, Canberra Roller Derby League’s second event on the 16th of August promises to be a continuation of the league’s exciting and unpredictable home team play. The first double-header saw upsets in both bouts, with last season’s second place Brindabelters going down to wooden spooners the Surly Griffins, and two-time champions the Black ‘n’ Blue Belles defeated by the Red Bellied Black Hearts.
In the first match, both the Griffins and the Black Hearts will be hoping to channel the success of their earlier game into another win–but this time, only one team will emerge victorious! In the second game, the Belters and the Belles will be looking to turn the season around and ensure they’re eligible to compete for first place later on.
All of this will make for a night of absolutely edge of your seat derby, and we’d love to see you at the first game, the second, or both! Get ready for twice as much fun with an awesome night of roller derby! Doors open at 3 pm at Tuggeranong Southern Cross Stadium, with the first game’s whistle blowing at 4, and the second game underway at approximately 6:15 pm.
