Did you see the Petrie Plaza punchup?

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses after an assault occurred in Petrie Plaza in the City in the early hours of Friday morning (15 November, 2013.

Around 3.30am, ACT Policing’s City Patrol responded to a report that a man was unconscious following an assault.

The man was with a friend when he approached a group of five males and spoke with them. He was then punched by one of the men in the group, causing him to fall to the ground. Witnesses say he was then kicked in the head, before the group left the area.

ACT Ambulance Service attended and transported the man to the Canberra Hospital.
The offender is described as Caucasian, approximately 175cm (5’9”) tall with dark medium-length scruffy hair, clean shaven and a distinctively large nose. He was wearing a dark coloured T-shirt and dark pants.

The offender was part of a group of five males who were of a similar height and build.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the assault or can assist with the investigation to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
