A 20-year-old Braddon man will face ACT Magistrates Court after fleeing from police early this morning (Thursday, March 21).
Around 12:10am police observed a white Nissan Tiida travelling at high speed on Belconnen Way, Belconnen.
Police activated their emergency lights and siren but the driver failed to stop, accelerating away onto Kingsford Smith Drive.
Police lost sight of the vehicle; however it was discovered a short time later mounted on a gutter at Dolling Crescent, Flynn. The driver had left the vehicle.
Police conducted a search of the area, locating a man hiding inside a domestic recycling bin.
The man was identified as the driver of the vehicle and taken into custody. He was later released, and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date
