In Chinese culture, the Lantern Festival marks the formal end of the Chinese New Year celebrations. This year, the Australia China Friendship Society (ACFS) will hold the Lantern Festival on Saturday, 15 February 2025, from 6:15 pm to 8:30 pm, at the Beijing Garden.
Enjoy a vibrant evening featuring performances of traditional Chinese music, dance, and martial arts, culminating in a Lantern Parade. Bring along a picnic and relax with your family by Lake Burley Griffin. Water and lanterns will be available for purchase, or bring your lantern.
Please note, in the event of rain, the festival will be cancelled. For the latest updates, check their website on the day.
This event is free. For further information, please email acfsevent@gmail.com or visit their Facebook page.
The Australia China Friendship Society is a voluntary, non-profit organisation that aims to promote friendship and understanding between the people of Australia and China. It has been running annual lantern festivals for more than 30 years.
