The first big-budget film from Australian director Alex Proyas, The Crow is a beloved Gothic favourite underscored by a blistering soundtrack (The Cure, Stone Temple Pilots, Rage Against the Machine).

Starring Brandon Lee in his final role (Lee was tragically killed during filming), The Crow is a tale of devastating romance and revenge set a year after the violent murders of Shelly Webster and Eric Draven (Lee).

‘Devil’s Night’ on the grimy streets of Detroit is the backdrop to this dark and visionary ‘sleeper hit’ that sees a resurrected Eric seeking retribution with the help of a powerful black bird.

The Crow imbues its comic brutalism with emotion and satire… [It’s] an obsessive rock’n’roll comic-book movie shocker of loony intensity” – Michael Wilmington, Chicago Tribune

‘Lee has phenomenal presence, and his movements are so balletically powerful that his rampages seem like waking nightmares’ – Peter Rainer, Los Angeles Times

Includes a pre-screening introduction and live performance by Venus Mantrap.
