Former school sites consultation

By belcc - 21 September 2007 6

(As suggested by Mike Crowther🙂

The ACT Government is consulting the community on future uses for most of the school sites that have closed or been announced as closing. Three Options Workshops will be run by Purdon Associates on Monday 24 September (Wanniassa), Tuesday 25 September (Bruce) and Thursday 27 September (Phillip). Visit the Future Uses for Former School Sites website for more information.

The meetings are to discuss the suitability of four main options for these sites. In essence, the four options range from leaving all buildings and grounds intact and leasing the buildings for other purposes, right through to complete demolishment and re-development of the site.

If you have a view on what should happen to these sites, this is a great opportunity for you to get involved and have a say.

What’s Your opinion?

ant, that’s if the sites weren’t already ‘sold off’ on the down-low.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the consultation process is nothing more than a pathetic attempt to seem like they want to hear what the public have to say.

I can see all those developers, lined up and licking their chops, like a dog watching the family at their lamb roast dinner.

sepi: No, that’s not true – that confusion is one of the reasons why I thought it was worth posting the details here.

Any member of the public can attend, you just have to register on the consultation’s website before the meeting.

I had heard that you had to be a member of a pre-approved community group to get into these meetings?
