Giralang man to face court over aggravated burglary, stabbing

A 44-year-old Giralang man was arrested yesterday (14 October) in connection with an aggravated burglary three weeks ago.

ACT Policing will allege the offender entered a residence in Flynn about 12:20 am on Friday, 25 September, attempting to steal money while the resident was sleeping.

The resident awoke and confronted the offender who proceeded to attack the victim leaving him with stab wounds to his torso before fleeing the scene.

The victim was taken to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Following an investigation, police arrested the Giralang man at a residence in Coombs yesterday.

He was remanded in custody and will appear in court on Monday, 9 November. He will face charges of aggravated burglary with intent to cause harm, theft and intentionally wounding.
