Communities@Work are letting people know they’re absorbed the Communities@Work and Gungahlin Regional Community Service:

Deputy Chief Minister, Andrew Barr launched the celebrations and spoke about the distinguished reputation Communities@Work has in the community and noted the opportunities that this merger provides across the whole territory. He congratulated both Organisations on the wonderful initiative to merge.

“The merger will better support the needs of the Gungahlin community” said Ms Rhonda Daniell, President of the Board of GRCS.

Communities@Work CEO, Ms Lynne Harwood identified the rapid growth of the Gungahlin community as “the new nappy valley” of Canberra and the challenges associated with meeting the needs of residents.

the big fish is becoming even bigger! soon there will be only one ‘regional’ community service at this rate. I understand the need for efficiency and quality service but I am not sure about monopolies being a good thing either.
