Long-time readers would remember occasional references to Hash House Harriers – the “Drinkers with a Running Problem” – on this site. The origins of the Hash, or HHH, are steeped in a haze of sweat and beer, yet a good summary exists here. You don’t need to run and you don’t need to drink – everyone is welcome as long as they have a sense of humour 🙂

1800hrs, Mon 5 Aug (Capital HHH) – 2 Margaret St, Karabar, Queanbeyan
1810hrs, Wed 7 Aug (WACT) – Guzman y Gomez, Bunda St, Civic
Those who haven’t attended HHH runs before are known as Hash Virgins, any of whom are extremely welcome to attend these runs/ walks.
Balls
It has been many years yet, sufficiently recovered, the Hash are putting on another ball; the Canberra Regional Combined HHH Ball!
For ONLY $70 you will have a great night out. Those who have enjoyed the Pirate Pub Crawls would also enjoy the HHH ball.
The HHH ball will be on Friday, 31st August (6 for 6:30pm) in a Civic location and the price includes canapés, 2 course meal, bread, tea and coffee, after dinner chocolates and very reasonable bar prices AND DJ Joy Division will get you dancing all night PLUS there may be a few surprises that only a HHH event can deliver!
Dress is Hash Formal:
Harriers – formal top half and boardies and runners beneath;
Harriettes – ball gown and runners… tiaras allowed 🙂
The venue is within walking distance to most accommodation in Civic.
Hashers and friends of hashers (with a sense of humour) are invited. You might need to bring a torch….
A ball for no reason – no boring presentations, no fundraising, just a great night out!
