John Hargreaves has put out a media release on plans to start having plans to address years of neglect by his government of Canberras urban parks.
Rather than cleaning up graffiti, picking up garbage, and fixing what’s broken, we’re going to have a series of public consultations and map out future directions.
“Park users are invited to discuss their ideas with Urban Services’ staff and hear more about the planning process at two information sessions.â€
Glebe Park bandstand: 10 am – 12 noon, Saturday 6 May
Black Mountain Peninsula play area, off Garryowen Drive: 2 – 4 pm, Saturday 6 MayIn case of wet weather, the venue for both sessions will change to the lobby of the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Binara Street, Canberra City. The same times will apply.
Personally I think a tastefull rent-by-the-hour hotel on Black Mountain Peninsular would be the greatest possible improvement for the bulk of the users of that park.
