SES volunteers came to the aid of Crookwell Hospital after heavy snowfalls led to the closure of the Crookwell to Goulburn Road overnight.
A Crookwell SES spokesperson said the unit assisted with transporting medical supplies from Goulburn to Crookwell Hospital after 10 cm of snow blanketed the region.
The main road was re-opened at 8.30 am today (25 August); however, drivers are urged to use caution and drive to conditions on the icy roads.
Goulburn Road was closed from Crookwell to Chinamans Lane overnight, and many roads in the region remain closed due to snow, fallen trees and flooding.
Heavy rain late yesterday also impacted Peelwood Road at Peelwood Creek, Tyrl Tyrl Road at the Bolong River causeway, Backham Road at the Tarlo River causeway and sections of Golspie and Peja Roads.
The Taralga to Oberon Road was closed at the Abercrombie River and Curraweela Creek causeway, and Grabben Gullen Road between Gunning and Crookwell.
Upper Lachlan Shire Council advises the Gunning Transfer Station will remain closed until the Grabben Gullen Road is cleared.
Crookwell SES received calls from the public regarding fallen trees, blocked roads and sagging powerlines, and have assisted the council with the clean-up.
