You know a suburb is ‘hot’ (in real estate parlance) when new multi-dwelling unit developments start popping up.
Yesterday, I spied from my bus seat, a sign at the CREEDA Business Centre, Downer (on the corner of Bradfield and Frencham Streets) indicating that the Independent Property Group is bringing little concrete boxes at premium prices (they call them ‘townhouses’).
Is this part of the ACT Government’s master plan for ex-school sites? What will happen to the CREEDA Business Centre?
Or are the derelict shops being re-developed instead? I couldn’t tell from where I sat. A while ago there was a really ugly multi-storey commercial development proposal for the shop site. Not sure what’s happened to that.
