A true country manor, 58 Bingley Way in central Wamboin exudes timeless rural style, elegance and charm.

Privately located on a quiet yet friendly street, ‘Bythorne’ rises among spectacular gardens designed by renowned landscape architect Michael Bligh.

Principal of Ray White Bungendore, Ellie Merriman, says Wamboin is a friendly community that actively supports its residents.

“Wamboin fosters a strong, involved community through various social groups, a busy monthly market and volunteer RFS brigade,” she says.

“Bythorne’s current owners have lived here happily for many years and spent plenty of time, money and effort extensively renovating the original century-old home into the sprawling manor seen today.

“It’s certainly a big house, but it’s inviting. Every room is warm and comfortable – you don’t feel like you’re rattling around in a sterile mansion, and it’s rather easy to imagine yourself relaxing with loved ones in each space.”

Stepping through the window-lined front doors into a sleek entry hall, visitors are drawn through to the first of two living spaces. The standout feature in this semi-formal lounge is its towering fireplace, framed by soft downlights.

Explore a little further, past the modern galley kitchen, and you’ll find the rumpus room. A fireplace is again showcased, but this time, your gaze is greeted by meticulously hand-crafted sandstone.

Recycled timber floors lead back through the large dining room to the main kitchen, which is well-equipped with a Falcon Professional Classic oven, six burner stove and walk-in pantry.

Three bedrooms and two bathrooms take up the remainder of the ground floor, each with a gentle colour palette to promote rest and relaxation.

Upstairs is the master suite and study. The views from inside and out on the covered balcony, Ellie says, are vast.

“No matter where you are on the upper floor, you get a spectacular view across sloping hilltops, often right to the horizon.

“The sunsets out here are just divine, and with a backdrop of such gorgeous gardens, it’s like you’re in your own little slice of paradise.”

Bythorne continues to shine outdoors with layered terraces, manicured lawns, hand-crafted stone walls, bespoke sculptures and fully irrigated gardens set on almost 20 acres of land. Nestled among them is a full-sized tennis court with lights and a solar-heated inground pool.

The main house has a roof-fitted sprinkler system for bushfire protection, supported by two dams, a licensed bore and 90,000 litres of stored rainwater. There is also a standalone 20 kVA solar system.

There’s even a modern yurt that would be the perfect hobby or studio space, plus a good-sized paddock at the back of the property for horse enthusiasts. The covered and irrigated veggie patch/orchard is brimming with heritage fruit trees, including apples, pears, plums, apricots and nectarines. There’s also a bunker that handily doubles as a wine cellar.

To Ellie, the manor’s design is utterly faultless.

“Being 15 minutes from Bungendore and an easy half hour from central Canberra, Bythorne would suit a large family or avid entertainer who dreams of being surrounded by nature while remaining close to town,” she says.

“I’m quite lucky in that I get to see many wonderful homes through my work, but this stands out as one of the really special ones. It’s a property I could easily see myself living in and I can’t wait to see who gets to call it home next.”

58 Bingley Way is priced in the vicinity of $3.5 million. Expressions of interest close on Monday, 14 October at 3 pm.
