The new-look Woden Town Square was the scene of sweet delight on Thursday morning when children embarked on an Easter egg hunt organised by Woden Community Service, and the bunny of course.

Children from Lollipop Early Learning Centre built their own baskets in the week leading up to Easter and then set out on the fluffy trail of the Easter bunny to collect as many Easter eggs as they can.

The transformed Square made the perfect site for the Easter egg hunt with landscape, furniture and built elements installed as part of the Woden Experiment.

Woden Community Service are helping to activate the Woden Town Square by encouraging community and commercial organisations to undertake activities and events that support and build community connections.

Key design elements of the space include a stage for community performances, smart benches with phone and laptop charging, flexible table settings next to areas set aside for pop up food and drink vendors, turf areas with hammocks, an outdoor table tennis facility, and two bookable pods.

The #WodenExperiment has been hive of energy and creativity with a range of events and activities taking place.

Recent activities include a visit from Lollipop Early Learning Centre to celebrate Harmony Day, Dai Cameron and the Silver Sprayers popping up to create ground artwork, free Sahaja Yoga Meditation classes, team meetings of local organisations, a social get-together of young mums and youth drop-in sessions.

If you would like to book a pod, the stage, or activate the space email WodenExperiment@wcs.org.au with your enquiry.

With many more events and activities coming up in the #WodenExperiment, stay up to date by visiting the #WodenExperiment Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/wodenexperiment/
