Lost Chook

By dungfungus - 24 July 2014 13

While walking the dog today near the pond on Bugden Avenue, Fadden, I encountered a lost chook. She is an orange/brown Orpington, very tame and when called (here, chook chook chook) she immediately walks briskly to your feet and doesn’t mind be handled. I have her in my backyard now but there are lots of foxes that come into this suburb so I will have to lock her up tonight.

If anyone knows who she belongs to please reply to this thread.

Good on you for taking care of that chook.

Thanks for that compliment. I would like to think that everyone would do the same thing.
BTW, the Colonel Sanders that tried to phone me to help out hasn’t called back.

‘Book Book’ has been re-named after the box she came home in and will now learn to answer to ‘Archive’. She is sleeping soundly on her perch with 4 new friends. Thanks Dungfungus.

If the true owner steps forward, I am sure mods on this site can lend out my email address….

So that would be ‘refowlement’?

Sorry.

Sorry guys, haven’t had the chance to log on till now. Glad chookie has a home!! 🙂

No problem, it was just that it was getting late in the day and Book Book aka Archive was at the back door waiting to be locked up for the night. That fowl has a lort of charm and personality.

Not mine but I’ll take her if you don’t get on to the owner. We have chooks who’d love a new playmate!

I haven’t heard from you yet – looks like chook a l’orange on the menu tomorrow.
Anyone else want a pet chook?

Thanks GP for collecting “Book Book The Chook” and giving here a new home with four others.
Now I can clean up the chooky-ook.

I forgot to say thanks to RiotACT and the Tuggeranong Veterinary Hospital as well.

Not my chook either, but I’d be happy to integrate her into my existing flock. I’ve sent you a text.

That sounds like the best outcome.
If you phone Tuggereanong Veterinary Hospital at Fadden (6291 7711) and ask about the lost chook that was reported to them yesterday, they can give you my contact number and we can go from there.
