Man allegedly shot in 'targeted attack' in Palmerston

ACT Policing is investigating what they believe was a targeted attack in Palmerston yesterday (27 May) that left a man with injuries consistent with a shooting.

Police were called to Bendora Crescent, Palmerston, at about 2:15 pm following reports a man had been shot.

At the same time, police received reports a vehicle was being driven erratically around Palmerston and that people were running along streets and jumping fences. One of them was reportedly carrying a firearm.

On arrival, officers confirmed a man had received injuries consistent with a shooting.

ACT Ambulance Service Paramedics took the man to hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations team is leading the investigation and believe this was a targeted attack.

At this time, police do not believe criminal gangs were involved and say there is no threat to the wider community.

Police are seeking witnesses, CCTV and dash-cam footage from the Palmerston area that captured any suspicious activity on Thursday afternoon.
