Man and woman charged over alleged murder near Batemans Bay

A breakthrough in the police investigation into the stabbing death of a man near Batemans Bay in April, with a man re-arrested yesterday and charged with murder and a woman charged with concealing a serious offence.

Just before 11:50 pm on Saturday, April 13, emergency services were called to a home at Surfside, just north of Batemans Bay.

Officers from South Coast Police District located a 29-year-old man with multiple stab wounds to his torso. He was unable to be revived and died at the scene.

Two men, aged 18 and 48, were arrested at the time, however, they were released pending further inquiries.

“Following further investigation, about 1.15 pm yesterday (July 11), the 18-year-old man was re-arrested at a hotel in Goulburn. He was taken to Goulburn Police Station,” police report.

“About the same time, a 46-year-old woman was arrested in Batemans Bay and taken to Batemans Bay Police Station.”

The man was charged with murder and refused bail to appear at Goulburn Local Court today (July 12). The woman was charged with conceal serious indictable offence and refused bail to appear at Batemans Bay Local Court today (July 12).
