However call for nominations has not happened yet, and anything could happen between now and call for nominations (Such as one of the factions deciding they’d like one of their candidates to have the preselection).

Yeah, but as Bob points out, unlike in Victoria it has amost no chance of success. The thing about the ALP is that any old fruitcake can nominate for preselection (as has happned hear), that doesn’t mean that they’ll get up.
