More than 10 victims after men assault, rob Kowen Forest partygoers

More than 10 people were assaulted or robbed when a group of men invaded a late-night party in an eastern Canberra forest on the weekend.

ACT Policing said emergency services were called to a dance party in Kowen Forest, near Sutton Road, over reports of violence at around 2:45 am on Sunday morning (29 September).

Victims and witnesses alleged a group of men of Pacific Islander appearance arrived at the party in a silver van and began demanding cash and items of value from the partygoers.

It is also alleged the offenders were dressed in black and the group arrived and departed the scene in the silver van.

“Multiple robbery and assault victims were identified by police and two people were transported to hospital with minor injuries,” a police spokesperson said on Sunday.

On Monday (30 September), police confirmed there were more than 10 victims.

Police are seeking information from partygoers who have not already provided their details, as well as from anyone who saw a silver van in the area prior to, or after, 2:45 am near Sutton Road.
