ANU Vice Chancellor Young has announced that Dr Peter Tregear is going to take over as head of the troubled School of Music.
Dr Tregear has extensive international experience as a researcher, teacher, and academic administrator in music education, both in the UK and Australia. He is a graduate of the University of Melbourne, and King’s College, Cambridge, and has held positions at the universities of Queensland, Melbourne, Cambridge and most recently at Monash University.
At Monash Dr Tregear is presently Executive Director of the Academy of Performing Arts, in charge of the highly successful academic and public outreach performance programs for the School of Music and Centre for Theatre and Performance, and for managing the large-scale performance venues.
