Open to all!

    Hi All,

Queanbeyan City Council’s Healthy Communities Committee is running a Community Photographic and Story Telling Competition. We want to find out about what makes Queanbeyan a great place to live, who are the shining stars of our community and what are our hidden treasures. We are asking people to take a photo of what’s important to them about Queanbeyan and write a few words to tell us why.

Entry is free and open to all residents and visitors to Queanbeyan. Entries close 24th April 2009. Great prizes are available, and there are 5 different categories that photos can be entered under, including a primary school and high school section.

Entry forms and more information regarding this project can be picked up at the Queanbeyan Library 257 Crawford St Queanbeyan or call Georgina Perri on 6298 0170 or Geraldine Manser on 62984553.

    FREE Community Workshops
We are offering three FREE community workshops to help potential entrants identify what they want to photograph, how to photograph it in a prize winning way, and how best to tell us why they think the subject of your photograph is an asset for Queanbeyan.

The workshops will be held on Thursday 12th March 9.30am – 1.00pm, Friday 13th March 9.30am – 1.00pm, and Saturday 28th March 10.00am – 1.30pm. All three will be at RB Smith Community Centre, Crawford St, Queanbeyan

Registration: RSVP by Wednesday 11th March To register please ring 6298 0263

Numbers will be limited to 12 per workshop so register early!

The workshops will be run by experienced tutors from PhotoAccess. The workshops will focus on planning your project, writing and editing your “story”, and basic camera capture skills and advice. Bring your own camera along to make this process as tailored to your needs as possible.

If you have any questions, please contact:
    Geraldine Manser – 6298 4553 Georgina Perri – 6298 0170

Please fell free to disseminate this information as widely as you like. Entry is not restricted to Queanbeyan residents, but the images submitted must be of Queanbeyan places, people or organisations.

    Cheers,

    Geraldine Manser

How could they not?

Also the pool.

I wonder if they’d be interested in my Petunia story?
