Police investigate second suspicious fire

Police are investigating a second suspicious house fire in Tuggeranong.

ACT Policing said police and ACT Fire and Rescue were called to a house fire on John Close in Gilmore late on Tuesday night (31 December).

Early that morning police and ACT Fire and Rescue had attended a unit fire on Peron Place in Banks, which they believe was deliberately lit.

The call to Gilmour came at 11:00 pm, and ACT Fire and Rescue were able to extinguish the fire and no one was injured.

The circumstances surrounding the fire are being investigated by Criminal Investigations detectives, as is the Banks blaze.

Police ask that anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have information about the fire, including CCTV footage or dashcam footage from around the area, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
