Canberra’s favourite post-hardcore sons Hands Like Houses return to the stage this week with two intimate shows at The Abbey. These sets are shaping up to be truly unique, with the band promising reimagined versions of songs from across their catalogue in the breathtaking atmosphere of the Gold Creek venue.
sideway’s weekly band nights continue this week with a triple-header featuring some of the city’s brightest talent. Local punk heroes Box Dye and Parrots With Piercings are set to perform with singer-songwriter Nina Leo opening up the night.
Anyone’s who’s looked across Lake Burley Griffin towards Aspen Island and thought it would make the perfect location for a music festival is in luck this week, with the tiny boat-accessible island gearing up to host a number of acts across three days. CC:DISCO, Winston Surfshirt (DJ set), Kinder, Ninajirachi, Stace Cadet and more will be piling onto the island for the most geographically isolated dance party you can have without leaving the city.
