Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Casemiro and Arlo are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These lovely animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below!

Cat of the week: Casemiro

Casemiro is a unique soul. Like so many cats, he arrived at the shelter as a fearful stray but he was already desexed so he’s definitely encountered people at some stage. He trusts people, can be quite charming at times, and is gentle.

He’ll greet you when you walk into the cattery with a meow … as long as you have his breakfast. That’s the thing with Casemiro – he is extremely food-orientated!

Don’t worry, he’s a pleasant Domestic Short Hair and would love a home with other cats, too. He’s very sociable, you see. However, the truth is he can be a false friend. He’ll meow and be super friendly to you if you have food.

He really does adore the company of other cats and understands people. He’d be absolutely fine with teenagers, too. He’s a unique character; come and see for yourself. We think you’ll love him.

Rooster of the week: Arlo

We need to talk.

This is Arlo. He’s one of nine roosters we have. Our marketing team has demanded they feature as birds of the week. They are located outside the marketing office (literally, right outside the window).

Did you know that roosters try to out-crow each other? Yep, if one goes “COCK-A-DOODLE-DO”, guess what the other eight do? “COCK-A-DOODLE-DO”. In unison. Or sometimes one after the other. Or both. It. Never. Stops.

To own them, you will need a fox-proof coop/run. Our staff will hug you if you adopt one. A long hug, too, like, “We can never repay you for this; finally, we can rest.” Remember how Rose hugged Jack in Titanic just before it sank? A hug like that.

The RSPCA ACT is open from 10 am to 3 pm on weekdays, but if you want to adopt the roosters, I will literally drive out here at 2 am on a Tuesday morning and personally load them into your car if that’s what you want. Ask for Phil.

Visit RSPCA ACT today at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life. You won’t regret it!

Roosters have NO place in suburban areas.
