Meet our lovable pets of the week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Lola, the Boxer/American Staffy, and Milo, the rabbit, are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These lovely animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Do you think that could be you? Read more about them below!

Dog of the Week: Lola

Aged just over two, Lola is still a puppy at heart. She’s at that point where most adults get to but will never admit: needing to see the kids live somewhere else and enjoy some well-earned peace and quiet. Considering all of the attention, photo shoots, and pressures of motherhood, she technically should be the Dog of the Year.

She’s raised seven adorable, healthy puppies (several still available for adoption) in recent months, which is no mean feat, considering the noise, smells and sights encountered at our animal shelter.

Lola’s ready for her own space and for her own human to love and be there for. She’s a softy. She’ll be very loyal to you and will be waiting at your door when you get home.

She’s not too keen on other dogs or cats, but she’ll be entertained easily by your attention and toys – oh, she loves playing with toys. Visit Lola today. You’ll love her.

Rabbit of the Week: Milo

Soft, warm, furry, friendly, loyal. Milo is everything you want in a pet. Photo: RSPCA ACT.

Milo the Flemish Giant cross is a happy boy, a perfect companion or a ‘ready-made-pet’ if you like. Soft, warm, furry, friendly, loyal (you can even feed him after midnight and nothing bad will happen!)

Most rabbits ideally shouldn’t be picked up (it can be dangerous for us and them), but that doesn’t mean some can’t be. Milo doesn’t like it, but he does love attention. He’s fine with children and other rabbits, too.

He’ll connect with you, follow you around, and come close to you to get pats, chin scratches, and head rubs. He’s a really great companion pet. He also loves exploring. He’ll seek out nooks and hiding spots, but he won’t stay there. He’s a pet at heart and will seek you out.

Come and visit Milo (and the other friendly rabbits we have available for adoption). They’re indoor pets, but if you have an outdoor run, even better!

Pawnote: Last week’s Cat of the Week, Fish, was adopted. Thanks, Canberra! Of course, it’s still kitten season, and we have plenty of healthy kitties waiting to meet you.

Visit RSPCA ACT today at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life. You won’t regret it!
