Meet our lovable pets of the week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!
Tommy the Kelpie-cross and Kronk the English Guinea Pig (and siblings) are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These lovely animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below!
Dog of the Week: Tommy
Introducing the charismatic and joyful Tommy, a Kelpie-cross. His family (including three schoolchildren) moved overseas and poor Tommy couldn’t go with them.
He’s a little dynamo, a striking lad who is a delight to hang out with. He spent some time in our office recently and reminded us of a little boy on his first day of school: charming, polite and desperate to make as many friends as possible.
He’s well-behaved and only two-and-a-half years old, so he’s ready to learn more and thrive in a family environment. He’s new to being walked on a leash, so he’ll benefit from training, but he’s so polite it won’t take long. He’s used to being alone on weekends too, but we’d love that to change!
Drop by our shelter and meet Tommy today. We think your family will fall in love with him immediately.
Guinea Pigs of the Week: Kronk and Co
The handsome little guy is the ‘spokesperson’ of a trio of brothers. Kronk (the grey one, pictured with Pacha) doesn’t mind being handled and is the least shy; all three are about three years old and are bonded so they need to be adopted as a trio.
Think of Kronk as the lead man. He’s the Sting of the Police, the Diana Ross of the Supremes, the Lemmy of Motorhead or Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees. Wait … he’s Kronk of the Gee Pees.
You’ll need a large indoor space like a hutch, and when they’re settled, you’ll find all three are terrific pets, friendly, and they will make that cute little squeaky noise that sounds like they’re busy discussing the day’s agenda.
Come and visit the Gee Pees (sorry, it’s stuck in my head) and see what all the fuss is about. A perfect addition to a safe and friendly home.
Paw note: last week’s Cat of the Week, Sam was adopted to a loving home! Thanks to the ACT animal-loving community.
