Meet our lovable pets of the week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Tank the German Shepherd and Kimba the White Lion (just kidding, he’s just a cat) are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These lovely animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below!

Dog of the Week: Tank

Well, just look at this handsome boy! This is Tank. He’s about to turn four and he has a smile that can light up your backyard better than 600 drones could ever do.

He’s lived life on the land and he’s very smart. He’s clearly been cared for and trained. His current repertoire of tricks includes sit, drop, shake, leave it, back up and more.

He’s strong and very large and needs some more training, and while he’s a clever boy, Tank doesn’t have experience in town life. Walking on a lead is new to him, so he’ll need work there, and his coat needs attention, too. You don’t get to look as handsome as he does without a good brush.

If you’re a physically active dog lover, you’re perfect for Tank. He’ll be great with teenagers, too. Drop by the Shelter and visit Tank. He’s absolutely magnificent.

Kimba

Cat of the Week: Kimba

This handsome gentleman is a ready-made companion for cat lovers. His story is unfortunately common at the RSPCA ACT. He’s 13 years old, you see, with outdated microchip details, so we couldn’t find his owners.

He’s used to home life; he has a scratching den that he likes to use as a cubby house. When you visit, he’ll approach the front of his cage to greet you. This fellow is truly a companion of people.

Kimba is affectionate and will do well with a couple who want that extra presence in their home. He prefers that you be his servant, wait on him, hand and foot, all day, whenever he wants (hey, when you’re old, you’ll probably want the same)!

Kimba is very relaxed and will make a terrific addition to a caring home. Being an elderly gent, he needs ongoing medications (pain relief, thyroid medication).

Drop by our Shelter in Weston; Kimba will greet you at his front door.

Pawnote: Last week’s Pets of the Week have been adopted! Both Ted, the cattle dog, and Kili, the fluffy angora rabbit, were adopted to loving homes. Thank you, Canberra animal lovers, you’re amazing.

Visit RSPCA ACT today at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life. You won’t regret it!
