Meet our lovable pets of the week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Anastasia the cat and Jack the Lab are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These lovely animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below!

Cat of the week: Anastasia

This is one affectionate girl. She loves her snuggles and Anastasia will happily spend time in your arms – that’s certainly what she does here at the RSPCA ACT shelter.

She’s still a baby at 14 months of age, has a purr to melt your heart and she’ll knead you into submission while simultaneously correcting your lumbar. (OK, she’s no physiotherapist, but you get the idea – she does a lot of kneading.)

Anastasia isn’t fond of other pets, so it will have to be your family only as she entertains herself and goes exploring through your house.

If she has a drawback, it’s that she sometimes gets overexcited, which is adorable to see but easily manageable; she’ll calm down after a good exertion.

Drop by and see Anastasia. She’s gorgeous.

Jack

Dog of the of the week: Jack

Jack is about 18 months old and has spent over half his life in our shelter. He’s our first Riotact Dog of the Week for 2024, but he’s our Dog of the Year. He’s our beautiful friendly boy and we hate that he’s still here.

It’s hard to say why he hasn’t been adopted. He’s friendly and loyal and can be entertained with toys. Perhaps it’s because he jumps a lot. He gets really excited around people, but so would you if you’d been in a shelter kennel for 320 days (and counting).

Jack desperately needs a good home, spacious yard, big fence and maybe a teenager or two to burn off his energy.

If you enjoy seeing adults cry (you should probably get some help but also) you should adopt Jack. Our staff and volunteers will bawl our eyes out when he gets a forever home.

We love him. He’s locally famous on Facebook, and everyone who meets him remembers and adores him. He just needs someone to give him a chance.

Drop by the shelter, he’ll be so happy to see you.

Visit RSPCA ACT today at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life. You won’t regret it!

I live in ALBURY, NSW. I’m a lover of animals, especially cat’s. I’ve contacted the RSPCA in ALBURY many times.
I’d Love ANOTHER Pet…
Our neighbours have DOG’S & there are others in our Street.
We live close to the CENTRE of town.
Our street isn’t as QUIET as it once WAS.
My husband & I have have owned 6 moggies in the time we’ve been married. They’ve been substitute KIDS.
AT this time of year animal’s get left behind; abandoned etc. .
We are in ALBURY ( home) very regularly but have commitments elsewhere @ times.
WOULD like to foster & Care for a cat; kitten or reasonable healthy sm pet.
REGARDS, GWYNNE.
