ACT Policing is seeking to identify a suspicious person who approached a 13-year-old-girl in Chisholm last Monday (June 24).
About 7.55am the 13-year-old girl was waiting at the bus stop on Heagney Crescent Chisholm when she was approached by a man on foot who offered to drop her at the Chisholm shopping precinct in his car.
The man is described as described as being African in appearance, aged in his in his mid-40s, approximately 160cm in height and of medium build. He was wearing a dark-coloured jumper and track pants with white stripes down the side. His face was covered with black or dark grey fabric, although he pulled the fabric down from his face when he approached the girl.
The girl ignored the man and left the area. The man did not threaten the girl during the incident and there was no indication the male intended to harm her.
Detectives would like to speak with anyone who may know the man or any witnesses who may have seen a male matching that description around the time of the incident.

UPDATE:
ACT Policing has received information which suggests the person described below may have been driving an older-style grey van, in a state of disrepair. The van has two shades of grey paint, one darker grey (almost black) and one lighter grey colour. Of particular note, the van has stickers resembling the white Nike ‘tick’ logo on its side.
