Three teenage boys have been arrested following investigations into a house burglary and subsequent vehicle thefts.

A Dunlop home was broken into in the early hours of Sunday morning (18 December), with a handbag and car keys stolen.

Soon after, a Jeep Cherokee and Audi Q5 were taken from the residence.

Police were called and began investigating, with the Cherokee discovered at another Dunlop location.

It was discovered credit cards that had been stolen earlier that morning were used at nearby convenience stores.

CCTV was reviewed and officers identified three persons of interest.

Police found the stolen Audi in Charnwood at about 2:30 am and soon after arrested two 15-year-old boys and a 13-year-old boy.

The 13-year-old was charged with aggravated burglary, two counts of obtaining property by deception, possession of stolen property and driving a motor vehicle without consent.

He was granted bail yesterday (19 December) from the ACT Children’s Court and will re-appear in January.

Investigations are continuing and further charges are expected to be laid against the other two teens.

How thick skinned and glass jawed the Riot-Act has become! While pretending to promote debate you are very selective in commentary. My comment below was deleted. Shame on you!!

Yep let’s see the usual commentators getting all hot and bothered over these latest crimes. Like honestly, break and enters are happening every day in Canberra and ALL AROUND THE WORLD. They have been happening since the beginning of time. What makes these crimes such a big deal now? Could Riot-Act be getting readers all worked up at the behest of the Police Union?

Mate it happens to me a lot so you’re not on your own there. I’m guessing your pro-crime, pro-junkie and pro-bail-everyone-at-all-costs—even-though-most-of-them-are-recidivists-who-don’t-respect-the-law-or-society remarks may have even been too ridiculous (even for you) for RA to post.

Stay safe & Merry Christmas

Why do they keep giving these criminals bail. Come on ACT Judges do better

” I’ll give Winx-like odds that he breaches his bail before he’s due in court.”

No takers here, mate, I reckon you’re dead right. Simply no consequences whatsoever. If the courts keep doing the same thing, they will keep getting the same results. Repeat, repeat, repeat.

“The 13-year-old was charged with aggravated burglary, two counts of obtaining property by deception, possession of stolen property and driving a motor vehicle without consent.

He was granted bail yesterday…”

So instead of spending Christmas behind bars pondering if this is how he wants to spend the rest of his life, he gets to spend time with family and friends. I’ll give Winx-like odds that he breaches his bail before he’s due in court.

Merry Christmas Canberra.
