Too much Pink

By Pommy bastard - 17 March 2009 92

I see the renowned singing and dancing  person, Pink, will be playing Canberra in August. I was thinking of getting my kids tickets, but at $180 for the cheap seats, I think Mz Pink can go without the pleasure of their company.

Hey PB,

i’ll do you a deal. For $50 each, ill get some crazy chick to scream at your kids for an hour or two.
Much better value.

She’s worth every single penny – honestly. I’ll be going – even if we have to eat beans for a month!

Which sadly won’t help anyone.

The Pink management team (and others) will take it as a sign that it’s not worth bothering to book shows in Canberra – rather than realising that overpricing is the real issue.

So less bands will show up to play in Canberra, and shows won’t get cheaper either.

See Ticketek, pre-sale tickets have a $20 premium and are $160, meaning normal tickets should be $140 when released (http://premier.ticketek.com.au/shows/show.aspx?sh=PINKVISA09&view=vent).

Still a lot of money, especially when a lot of Pink fans are teens.

Another Pink mad offspring won’t be going either, I got far better value from the Oils last week

Buy them the DVD, they’ll probably be able too see the show better anyway.

Maybe try contacting her label or something? tell them something along the lines of “your daughter was instrumental in persuading heaps of her school friends to sign the petition and now she can’t afford to go, or any of them for that matter”

Maybe try the promoter. But I can save you the effort and tell you now they wont care.

You could boycott and if they don’t sell enough they’ll probably cut their losses, cancel at the last minute and refund those who have bought tickets.

How can anybody afford tickets to Pink when we’re all slipping into the red?

From the I-just-realised-we-live-in-a-market-economy department?

AngryHenry 9:47 am 17 Mar 09

That is retarded pricing if ever I’ve seen it…

Talk about ripping off the kids.

So what, she’s a rockstar. Rubbish, she’s a cash cow.

Disposable 9:45 am 17 Mar 09

That’s a shame after people campaigned so hard just to get her to play here. Sounds like her management is taking advantage of the situation.

Maybe try contacting her label or something? tell them something along the lines of “your daughter was instrumental in persuading heaps of her school friends to sign the petition and now she can’t afford to go, or any of them for that matter”

I was under the impression she was a pretty cool lady.

I’ve paid that much to see real musicians in a world class setting (gold class seats to see Ornette Coleman at the Opera House, for example). It’s a stupid amount to ask for a frothy pop act at some two-bit local arena.

justbands 9:40 am 17 Mar 09

$180! She’s kidding. That’s just stupid. I wouldn’t pay that to watch someone with actual talent even.

Kizzle 9:38 am 17 Mar 09

Wow, that’s alot of pink.
