The Bureau has changed its website. Cue screams.
But they are warning that all the regions surrounding the ACT are getting wild weather coming up from Bass Strait.
A low currently east of Bass Strait will deepen and move northwards in the vicinity of NSW coast today. A trough associated with the low will trigger gale force winds along the coastal fringe and over Alpine areas, as well as damaging swell along the southern half of NSW coast.
Damaging winds around 65 km/h with peak gusts of 110 km/h are forecast from late Friday morning for coastal parts of the Metropolitan, Hunter, Illawarra, South Coast and elevated parts of Snowy Mountains forecast districts.
Very heavy surf which may lead to localised damage and coastal erosion is forecast to develop from the south during Friday afternoon and evening for the Hunter, Metropolitan, Illawarra and South Coast forecast districts. Beach conditions in these areas could be dangerous and people should stay well away from the surf and surf exposed areas.
Surf’s up!
