Woman dies after car hits tree in Ngunnawal

A woman has died after a car hit a tree at the intersection of Arrabri Street and Horse Park Drive in Ngunnawal about midday today (Monday, 27 December 2021).

Police and emergency services remain at the scene investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, and both roads remain closed at the intersection. Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.

ACT Ambulance Service paramedics also attended but despite their efforts the 33-year-old woman passed away in a Canberra hospital.

This is the eleventh death on ACT roads this year.

ACT Policing’s Major Collision Team is conducting an investigation and will prepare a report for the coroner.

ACT Fire & Rescue also attended the accident and firefighters worked to free the woman from her vehicle as paramedics treated her.
