The mid-year ACT budget review revealed the predicted deficit for the 2014-15 financial year had more than doubled from $332.8 million to $770.5 million.
This is without most of the light rail expenditures, and does not take into account the many billions of dollars worth of ACT public servants’ unfunded superannuation liability.
It is a long, long way back to anywhere near a balanced budget, but the Chief Minister says that will occur in “coming years”.
Will be interesting to see if they can contain the Mr Fluffy buyback cost to ACT ratepayers to the estimated $400.
