Work on the new Gungahlin suburb of Moncrieff is set to begin later this year, according to an article in the Canberra Times.
Located in North Gungahlin, bordered by Ngunnawal and Amaroo, Moncrieff will accommodate about 5000 residents.
The suburb will also contain a shopping area or group centre to service the area. Over half of the suburb will be retained as open space.
Moncrieff will provide about 2,125 dwelling sites and contain a mix of residential, medium and higher density multi-unit developments, community facility sites, commercial zones and a group centre.
500 dwelling sites will be released by a ballot for registered builders in June.
Further information is available from the LDA website.
