A 19-year-old man from Busby, NSW will face the ACT Magistrates Court tomorrow morning (Wednesday 7 July) charged with aggravated robbery after a successful extradition by ACT Policing detectives today.
Police will allege the man committed the aggravated robbery at the United Service Station, Canberra Avenue in Fyshwick on Friday 11 June 2010. During the incident the male attendant was threatened with knives and a baseball bat. Cash, cigarettes and a mobile telephone were stolen.
Yesterday (Monday 5 July), New South Wales police arrested the male at Green Valley Police Station and executed a search warrant on a home in Busby, NSW.
ACT Policing members successfully applied for the male’s extradition to the ACT before the Liverpool Local Court today. He will be conveyed to the ACT Watch House this afternoon, where he will be charged with aggravated robbery.

An 18-year-old Oxley man and a 16-year-old male youth, from south Canberra, will face court today after they were arrested at a residence in Ballarat Street, Fisher late last night (Monday, July 5).
Both males have been charged with aggravated robbery and assault occasioning actual harm.
Police will allege the pair had confronted their victim, a 15-year-old male youth, at the Woden Bus Interchange around 9.30pm yesterday, and then boarded the same bus as the victim.
The victim was followed off the bus by the two offenders, who assaulted him and stole some items from him, including a mobile phone.
The pair followed the victim to his home where they threatened him and asked him to produce other items. The offenders fled when the victim’s father came out of the house and pursued them.
Police attended a Ballarat Street residence a short time later, took into evidence some stolen items, and arrested the pair. The 18-year-old will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning, while the youth will face the ACT Childrens Court.

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an armed robbery at the McDonalds restaurant in Weston which occurred around 2:40am this morning (Tuesday 6 July).
Two males entered the restaurant by jumping through the external service window and threatened staff members with knives. The offenders stole an amount of cash before escaping on foot.
One of the offenders is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 188 centimetres tall (6’2”), with a medium build. He was wearing a black coloured parka jacket over a grey hooded jumper, jeans, black gloves and white shoes. He was also wearing a blue bandana tied around his face.
The other offender is described as being about 178 – 183 centimetres tall (5’10” – 6’), with a medium build. He was wearing a solid blue pull-over style jumper over a grey hooded jumper, jeans, black gloves and white sports shoes.
Police wish to speak to any person who used the McDonalds drive-through between the hours of 2:20am and 2:40am this morning (Tuesday 6 June).
Police would also urge anyone who may have witnessed suspicious behaviour in the vicinity of the Weston McDonalds at the time of the incident, or who knows the identity of the offenders to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au .
