One of the biggest weeks on the Canberra music calendar is upon us. UC O-Week is here, with a stacked program of shows. Australian indie icons Ball Park Music stop in at UC Refectory on Thursday night. They’ll be joined by Perth rockers Spacey Jane, fresh off their own sold out Canberra show, and locals Sputnik Sweetheart, who are enjoying rising popularity off the back of their debut EP.
Canberra’s hip hop scene is banding together this Thursday for Raw Bars. Expect performances from some of the city’s most seasoned MC’s, including Cappo, OC and Shaka J, all in the name of bushfire disaster relief.
Acclaimed singer-songwriter Julia Jacklin is in town this week as well, with a special one-off appearance at UC Hub on Saturday. After threats of riots from local songwriters, Tasmania’s answer to Bob Dylan Cathy Diver has joined the bill, as has Sydney dream pop duo Egoism.
Amanda Palmer takes to the Canberra Theatre stage this Friday, performing a solo show featuring songs and stories from across her career. She hinted to us that she regularly throws out the setlist, so don’t miss out on your own unique experience.
