Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!
Sophie, Brioche and Pretzel are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.
Dog of the Week – Sophie
Meet Sophie! This gorgeous pitbull is very typical of her breed – a big smoochy love bug who is always up for adventures and games. Sophie is looking for a loving home with couch space to share! This lady will love to snuggle up with her new special person and watch Netflix while lazing on the lounge.
Sophie is an avid lover of daily walking and particularly enjoys games with toys. Tennis balls, tug ropes and other squeakers will make for an enriching life. Sophie has great taste and enjoys nibbling on her favourite treats. She could make a great training partner in her new home.
Sophie has a somewhat rough play style, but could be open to meeting a new male dog for company. We recommend that Sophie joins a family with older children and remind owners that interactions between dogs and children should be monitored at all times. The adoption fee for Sophie is $395.00.
Please note that if you are living outside the ACT and interested in adoption, rules for owning Pit Bull types may vary. Please contact your local council for guidelines.
Rats of the Week – Brioche and Pretzel
Brioche and Pretzel are two very loved and well-handed rats that have found their way to RSPCA through unfortunate circumstances. This dynamic duo are now looking for a forever home to call their own. Brioche and Pretzel are a bonded pair and are looking to be adopted together,
Their previous human did well in teaching them how to be loving little ladies. Brioche and Pretzel love each other, as well as their human companions. They love to spend their day snuggling together, exploring their enclosure (and staff jumpers) and running on their wheels.
Rats are intelligent and affectionate creatures. They love to spend their time resting and grooming themselves while the day goes by. Brioche and Pretzel will thrive in an environment where they are given lots of physical and mental stimulation to keep them happy and healthy.
Brioche and Pretzel are looking for an enriching and interactive new home with plenty of love to be shared. Due to her pink eyes, Brioche has impaired vision. However, she has managed through life so far without issues. Brioche would do well staying with her sister in an adjusted cage with minimal changes (though extra enrichment is important).
Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
