The Productivity Commission has released its Report on Government Services and in turn every State and Territory leader is trying to justify their position in the pack.
The ACT did not do very well on hospitals [ABC] and policing. (anyone surprised?)
The Chief Minister, however, is doing his job with gusto and talking up the good numbers while ignoring the not so good.
Particularly interesting is how pleased he is with the results for education in the ACT. That would be the education system that’s just finished its final year of existence and he’s now dismembered. I particularly liked how while trumpeting his new spending on education he’s also promising to bring down the amount of money spent per student. That’s a neat trick!
