A Canberra father cashing in some winning scratchy tickets at a Kippax newsagent has walked away with much more – he’s a newly minted millionaire.
The man had his division one prize of $1,172,770.07 confirmed by newsXpress Kippax Fair manager Douglas Wilson, who told the man they were looking for a division one winner from last Saturday’s Lotto draw (5 June).
The newsagent printed off the winning numbers and the man went home to check his 12-game quick pick entry.
It was certainly worth the effort.
The ACT player held one of the five division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Lotto draw 4161, drawn Saturday 5 June 2021. Each division one winner scored $1,172,770.07.
“I still can’t believe it,” the man told an official from The Lott yesterday (8 June).
“I don’t know how I feel. I’m still in shock. It’s unbelievable. I cannot believe that it’s me.”
“It will make life a lot easier and it’s going to be great to be able to help the kids,” he said.
Mr Wilson said it was the first division one winning entry their outlet had sold.
“Wow! We hope this had gone to one of our regulars,” he said.
“We are all excited for the winner, even though we wish it were us.”
The winning numbers were 24, 33, 44, 1, 11 and 32. The supplementary numbers were 20 and 35.
Across Australia, there were five division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4161 – two in New South Wales and one from Queensland, ACT, and South Australia.
