Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Tiki and Nara are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Rooster of the Week – Tiki

It’s Tiki time! This handsome young man came to the shelter after being found lost and a little worse for wear. After getting some TLC from our shelter staff, he is looking more fabulous than ever and is ready to find his new forever home.

Although he is small, Tiki has a big personality and voice. You could certainly describe him as a clucky character! He would love to share his space and time with some friendly hens as he is a little lonely without company. This sweet boy will happily sit on your lap for a quick scratch or some mealworms. If you’re really lucky, he will even bring you some of his corn to share.

Tiki will need plenty of space to strut his stuff and will need a safe and secure place where he can be protected from foxes. If you think you have the space for Tiki at your home and in your family, come meet him!

Nara

Nara needs an owner to cuddle.

Dog of the Week – Nara

Nara’s new owners need to be comfortable with some PDA as there’s nothing Nara likes more than giving big sloppy kisses!

Nara is an incredibly sweet-natured dog that is ready to love up her new owners. She can be stressed in the shelter and is dying to get out of here so she can start a new life with someone.

Once she’s away from distraction and extra stimulation, she reveals her true colours as an affectionate lady who absolutely loves a snuggle.

Nara’s new owner will have to be willing to commit some time to make sure she settles into her new home. She needs a bit of time and space to come out of her shell, but she is sure to repay the lucky adopter with a lifetime of adoration, devotion and play.

Nara is quite a strong girl on the lead so walkers will need to have a bit of strength, but she is improving with regular lessons and, given time, the trainers think she’ll happily trot alongside her new companion. Also, don’t let her solid frame fool you, Nara is a very agile girl who will quickly slip a fence if it is not tall enough.

Nara is generally ‘too much dog’ for other dogs – so is best suited to being an only dog.

With plenty of energy to burn on walks and playing, we’d recommend Nara for a home with older teens.

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
