An e-scooter rider will face court today (31 December) after falling off his ride before being arrested in connection with a burglary in Conder on Sunday night.
At about 10:40 pm on Sunday, Tuggeranong Station officers on patrol observed the man riding an e-scooter in Conder with bags over his shoulder.
The man allegedly rode away from the officers at speed before falling from the scooter, fleeing on foot and discarding the bags.
Police caught up with the man a short time later and, when the bags were retrieved, a search revealed dozens of items suspected of being stolen property. Police also located a knife.
The man was arrested and taken to the ACT Watch House.
Further investigations revealed a nearby residence had been broken into and several items had been stolen.
The 39-year-old Monash man will face the ACT Magistrates Court charged with aggravated burglary, going equipped for theft, theft, possessing a knife without a reasonable excuse and unlawful possession of stolen property.
