A 25-year-old man has been extradited from NSW after being arrested and charged in relation to a stabbing in Kingston on Saturday night (5 March).
The man was arrested on Wednesday afternoon and appeared in Nowra Local Court today, 10 March.
The arrest came after police earlier appealed for video footage from mobile phones, dash-cams or CCTV in the Kingston area.
At about 5:45 pm on Saturday, an altercation occurred between several men near a licensed premises on the Kingston Foreshore. The altercation continued onto Eastlake Parade, where the stabbing took place.
The male victim was taken to hospital by ACT paramedics, where he was treated for stab wounds.
Police made an arrest yesterday (9 March) and today a 25-year-old man appeared before the court in Nowra, where an extradition request was granted.
He will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on Friday (11 March), where he will face charges of attempted murder and intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm. ACT Police have indicated they will oppose bail.
