Vikings break Perth's Spirit

Last night the Canberra Vikings put in a better performance in the second round of the ARC to score a 17 – 8 win against the Spirit in Perth. It was a low scoring affair with tries to the Vikings Matt Carraro and Christian Lealiifano, and a late consolation try to the Spirit’s Ratu Siganiyavi. If Perth had a half decent kicker it would have a much closer game, but hey that’s rugby.

Other highlights and lowlights of the match include Tawake severely smashing Spirit prop Pek Cowan (so badly that he required strechering off & oxygen); and an ominous early shower for “Soggy” Faingaa who struggled off the field with a knee injury.

More details of the game are on Brumbies Rugby.

Great to see the Vikings on the winners list. Bad news for Faingaa though! I’ll be there again this Sunday.
