I’m not sure that we’d want to do that. He was actually passing the abll on the weekend. I had to rub my eyes in a comical manner to assure myself that I wasn’t dreaming. If we let him continue to “find himself” at No. 12, he may even develop a step. The, with his aforementioned excellent hard running style and rugged defence, he could be one of the best players in the competition.

Hope somebody is sending these results and the vids of the game and rubbing it in to last years so-called “senior players group” which ruined last years season. Probably best not to, seeing as they are not playing for the Brumbies any more, wouldn’t want to show them how rugby is played.

Although in their original Canberra City form, the Cosmos (then the arrows) were actually entertaining and drew reasonably good crowds..Aaaahhhh the memories.

Remember the mascot, Cosmo? Just some ordinary public servant in a bad silver suit being about as entertaining as a middle aged rapper. And they always described the evening as ‘balmy’ even if you were seriously worried about hypothermia. They always said ‘please be upstanding for the national anthem’ which did not mean what they thought it meant. The Brumbies have to be better than that. I assume.

But I also remember walking through O’Connor Ridge to the stadium before the GDE was built and seeing lizards and parrots. Which was a lot better than the soccer at the end of the walk, as you probably remember.

I’m wearing a scarf of nostalgia tonight.

Easily the most entertaining Brumbies performance in about 2 or three years.

The post defence was pretty ordinary in the first half, and the piggies really need to learn when enough is enough with a driving maul (just release it damn it!!), but some great counter attacking and general enterprise with the ball in hand.

Loved that they were throwing the ball around and attacking from within their own half. Felt like I was watching the Brumbies of old. Lealiifano did enough to show that he should be the first choice No. 10 and Ben Mowen is just outstanding. If they can win next week and then grab a couple of scalps away from home, they’ll be in a great position at the halfway point of the season.
