Meet our lovable pets of the week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Tommy and Prince are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These lovely animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below!

Dog of the Week: Tommy

Meet charismatic and joyful Tommy, a Kelpie-cross. His family (including three schoolchildren) moved overseas, and poor Tommy couldn’t go with them.

He’s a little dynamo, a striking lad who is a delight to hang out with. He spent some time in our office recently and reminded us of a little boy on his first day of school: charming, polite and desperate to make as many friends as possible.

He’s well-behaved and only two-and-a-half years old, and he’s ready to learn more and thrive in a family environment. He’s new to being walked on a lead, so he’ll benefit from training, but he’s so polite it won’t take long. He’s used to being alone on weekends too, but we’d love that to change!

Drop by our shelter and meet Tommy today. We think your family will fall in love with him immediately.

Cat of the Week: Prince

Meet Prince, a regal Siamese gentleman seeking his forever kingdom after being surrendered to the shelter due to his owner going into a nursing home. At 12 years old, Prince exudes the grace and charm befitting his breed. With striking blue eyes that reflect his gentle soul, Prince’s melodious meow is as distinctive as his royal lineage, though occasionally a little loud on the ears.

Due to old age, our handsome Prince is on arthritis medication to help manage pain and discomfort and should remain on this for the remainder of his life.

Prince’s ideal home would be arthritis-friendly, with a lack of stairs, in a preferably calm environment. Prince is incredibly sweet and sociable and takes no time going from a quick hello to curled up on your lap for some cuddles. This friendly boy would love to go home to a loving owner before winter to spend the colder months curled up by your side!

Come down to the shelter and meet Prince today!

Visit RSPCA ACT today at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life. You won’t regret it!
