
A few years back the ABC TV program The Beast poked fun at the capital with a cringe-inspiring video, ‘Canberra: The Musical’, mocking our roundabouts, fake lake and bureaucratic heritage.
One redeeming feature was a cameo appearance by the late great Peter Harvey at the end. Sorry to those of you who involved producing it, yes, it’s clever and meant in fun, but we’re just not fans of Canberra bashing here.
In contrast, a stunning film about our city made by a Canberra production company and featuring a reworked version of ‘Under the milky way’ has won a silver ‘Dolphin’ trophy in Cannes. Screencraft picked up the award at the annual Cannes Corporate Media and TV Awards on Friday. You can watch their gorgeous film, ‘Canberra.
