ACT records 666 new COVID-19 cases

The ACT has recorded 666 new cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8 pm yesterday, including 224 identified by PCR and 442 by rapid-antigen tests (RAT).

There are now 63 people in hospital, including one in intensive care and one being ventilated.

This brings the number of active cases in the ACT to 5464. Yesterday there were 826 new cases.

The number of ACT residents aged 12 and over who are fully vaccinated remains steady at 98.6 per cent while 36.4 per cent of ACT residents aged over 18 have received a booster shot (as at 21 January 2022).

NSW recorded 20,148 new cases and 30 deaths in the last 24 hours.

Victoria recorded 16,016 new cases and 20 deaths.
