ACT records 856 new COVID-19 cases

The ACT has recorded 856 new cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8 pm yesterday, including 468 identified by PCR and 388 by rapid-antigen tests (RAT).

There are now 60 people in hospital, including two in intensive care and one being ventilated.

The double-dose vaccination rate for the ACT’s five-plus population is 96.6 per cent, and 74.5 per cent of residents aged 16 and older have now received a booster.

Of ACT residents aged five to 11, 61.5 per cent have received two doses.

Since the pandemic began, 92,330 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the ACT.

NSW recorded 13,601 new cases and 18 deaths in the last 24 hours.

Victoria recorded 9559 new cases and eight deaths.
