Agreed.
What more ridiculous symbol can you have of their step back to the last century than to insist on a return to this archaic term?
So we have to start using amongst and whilst too?
It’s appropriate I guess, being Talk Like A Pirate Day.
Avast me hearties, whilst that scurvy mob have been off governing the last half-dozen years, we were deep amongst the Oxford English Dictionary 1990 Edition planning the programmes we’d inflict upon ye.

Copyrights are at A-Gs

It can’t all be about “the release of…criminal lunatics removed from the Northern Territory of Australia.”

There’s no ‘me’ in programmes…

Oh, yes there is.

Thanks to your comprehensive post I am now aware and cognisant of “Egg Industry Service Provisions (transitional and consequential provisions) Act 2002. Since 2002, have been in a transitional period attempting to some servicing without being consequential on eggs.

I see “programmes” is back. Dratty.

Objectively, these are sensible. A return to what it was like when I was in the APS 15-20 years ago. I mean, seriously, “Industry, Innovation, Climate Change, Science, Research and Tertiary Education”; climate change in a different agency to environment/sustainability/water; resources/tourism separated from industry; buzzwords like “Digital Economy”; everything had become rather silly.

Everything appears consistent with long established Liberal Party ideology. Aged care, for example, is now no longer associated with health, but simply about giving them pocket money, like dole bludgers, single mums and others who don’t contribute to the economy.

Also the old, convoluted name Department of the Treasury has been brought back after many years of just being called The Treasury. Strange for a new government which trumpeted that it was simplifying the names of departments.

Treasury is referred to as The Department of the Treasury in all previous AAOs that are still on the PM&C website. Business as usual I suspect.

No mention of the Royal Australian Mint in Treasury’s listing. Also the old, convoluted name Department of the Treasury has been brought back after many years of just being called The Treasury. Strange for a new government which trumpeted that it was simplifying the names of departments.

I think uniformity of naming and putting paid to treasury’s airs and graces in one go is no bad thing.

Government News have a hefty analysis.

Trade marks and Patents are at Industry, but Copyrights are at A-Gs?

That’s how the responsibilities are already divided. IP Australia is an agency of the current industry portfolio and deals with patents, trademarks and designs, while copyright is over at AG.

No change there. It has been that way for a long time.

Trade marks and Patents are at Industry, but Copyrights are at A-Gs?

No comments because everyone is reading and trying to wrk out what it means for them….

Strange that Renewable Energy sits under Environment, but the Australian Renewable Energy Agency ACT sits under Industry.

Although the Renewable Energy Target always sat with Climate Change, while ARENA sat under Energy
